NUHOMS® Standard HSM
The NUHOMS® Horizontal Storage Module (HSM) is the most popular storage overpack in the United States. It offers unmatched safety, durability and stability for the dry storage of canisterized fuel. The HSMs are erected in customized arrays to suit utility needs. Each array consists of several base units and is completed by additional shield walls on the sides and (if needed) the rear walls. The horizontal orientation of the module allows for simple loading and unloading using the NUHOMS®-OS197 transfer cask or a licensed transportation cask, such as the NUHOMS®-MP187 or MO197 shipping cask. The HSM is passively cooled and requires no routine maintenance.
